Poweramp exists for one reason: to explain, clearly and without marketing noise, how serious music playback works on a modern Android device. Published at poweramp.mom, the site collects documentation, capability overviews and plain-language explanations covering Hi-Res output, lossless decoding, parametric equalization, gapless transitions and direct USB DAC connections. Everything here is informational and educational — there is no store, no checkout and no paid service on this website.
Our editorial focus is the audio engine itself. A player is only as good as the chain between the file on your storage and the transducer at your ear, and every stage of that chain matters: how a decoder handles high sample rates and bit depths, how a resampler behaves, how a 64-band parametric equalizer applies gain without introducing clipping, how the output layer negotiates with the operating system, and how much of the device battery all of that work actually costs. We write about those stages the way an engineer would describe a signal path — one block at a time.
We also believe in offline listening. Streaming has its place, but a local library that lives on your own storage never buffers, never degrades on a weak connection, and never depends on a service remaining available. Much of our documentation is written for people who curate their own collections: rippers, collectors, field recordists, and listeners who simply want their files to sound exactly as they were mastered. Low overhead and predictable, uncompromised playback are the values we keep returning to.
The audience we serve is broad but consistent in curiosity. It includes headphone enthusiasts comparing codecs, owners of portable DACs and amplifiers who want bit-perfect output, musicians and producers checking mixes on the move, and newcomers who have just discovered that the format and the output path change what they hear. For each of them we try to answer the same underlying question: what is actually happening to my music, and what can I control?
Poweramp keeps its own footprint as light as the playback philosophy it describes — minimal tracking, no advertising profiles, and a straightforward approach to cookies.
